Apart from our satisfied clients here in South Africa, we have assisted several international clients with their website requirements, and include individuals within the UK and USA amongst our clients.

Our skills encompass client-server programming (Visual Basic and Delphi), website design, Macromedia Flash design, database design and optimisation (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and MS Access), website programming (PHP and ASP), and client-side scripting (Javascript and VBScript).

Xenon draws primarily on the skills of the owner and managing member, Julia Jackson.

A message from the owner ...

My name is Julia Jackson, and I am the owner of Xenon Web Services. I have an honours degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have been involved in software design and internet-related software, including website design, since 1996. In internet terms, that's a long time!

I have been running my own business since 1997, and I have generally focused on system and database design, especially integrating websites with databases. I really enjoy writing the code that goes behind a dynamic website - but I find my creative outlet in website design.

Website design is about much more than just an attractive look. A well-designed website must be easy-to-use, as well as search engine friendly. When I design a website, I take into account many factors, including the purpose of the website. Why does the website exist? To convey information? To sell products? The site must be designed so that its main purpose is achieved.

Many people believe that their business requires a website because it's "the done thing" - everyone has one. To some extent that is true - you can appear unprofessional if you don't have a website. But of far more importance is the benefit a website can have for your business - not to mention the detrimental effect that a badly designed website can have on your future sales!
